JD Vance seems to struggle with self-esteem. Is it understandable that many white men face self-esteem issues under white supremacy? How can they maintain a positive self-image knowing that people who look like them have committed atrocities like genocide? How can they trust one another when they’ve taken advantage of and abused each other for so long, making even simple connections feel terrifying?
Have they pushed away friends and family, isolating themselves because of the toxicity they carry? Is it difficult for them to respect themselves and other European Americans in this context? Why do social media interactions often devolve into insults instead of meaningful conversations? Is violence becoming increasingly prevalent among them, and how does this reflect the violence they inflict on others?
Could this dynamic be a root cause of many problems in the United States? What if they admitted these truths and committed to healing? Could such acknowledgment help their families stay together and address other social issues? Would it alleviate some of the suffering that pervades society?
What if white-bodied European American men recognized that their ideologies are flawed and their worldview is toxic? What if they admitted to their abusive behaviors and committed to genuine healing? Why are they so afraid to embark on this journey? Does healing require admitting that others are human beings too and that they’ve caused pain?
What if they persevered through the discomfort that comes with facing these truths? What might happen on the other side of that pain? Well, I know what happens, and it’s a beautiful thing. Could avoiding healing mean missing out on life’s blessings? What could they discover if they chose to embrace this challenge? Please begin your healing journey; all of our lives depend on it.
So many great questions to tackle 🖤
